BCSF Instructor certification depends on the successful completion of the 3-day Instructor Preparation Course. Competence-based standards of knowledge, skills, teaching techniques, personal ethics, and safety behaviors will be measured throughout the certification system.
We intend for the BCSF’s SledSafe training programs to reflect a high-quality introduction to snowmobile safety knowledge, environmental awareness, and operational skills. BCSF Certified Instructors are specifically trained by BCSF Senior Instructors to facilitate the Course. The following standards and responsibilities have been created to help assure they are presented in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
To become a BCSF Instructor, an individual must:

Submit to BCSF an Application to attend a Snowmobile Instructor Preparation Course.

Complete the BCSF Snowmobile Instructor Preparation Course to include:

Completing the SledSafe Industrial Operator Course (familiarization phase)

Passing student teaching based upon BCSF competency-based evaluation criteria o Pass written exam with a minimum pass mark of 75%
